Contest Winners at The Huffman House

Janice Eckstein was the winner of a drawing held by Blue Ridge Highlands at the AAA Great Vacation Expo in Columbus, OH in January.  She shared her 'Great Vacation' with her daughter, Kathy.  They won 2 nights at The Huffman House, a day on the New River with New River's Edge and a bottle of wine from Flavours Magazine.  Janice booked two extra nights at The Huffman House so she and Kathy could explore the area.  They were busy every day and loved their time here in the beautiful New River Valley.  Here they are displaying their New River's Edge t-shirts and then with Carol & Ron Baker, owners of The Huffman House B&B.  Maggie, the Border Collie, was not about to get left out when the pictures were being taken.

In January the Blue Ridge Highlands crew set up a booth at the AAA Great Vacations Expo in Columbus OH to let travelers know more about what this SW region of Virginia has to offer.
Potential visitors and businesses gave their information to receive updates on upcoming events and were entered in a contest. The visitor who won received two nights lodging at The Huffman House, a day on the river with New River's Edge and a bottle of wine from Flavours Magazine.
After winning, they decided to add on some extra days to thoroughly enjoy our beautiful area!
They are here right now enjoying hiking the Cascades, a day on the New River, a glass of wine before dinner, the animals at The Huffman House and the scrumptious breakfasts!

Summer on the Farm

The flowers are blooming and the animals are multiplying!
We just acquired a new 2 year old Great Pyrenees named 'Woof'.  So far he is behaving relatively well and is getting along with Shep & Maggie. One of our Angus Cows had twins and wouldn't feed one of them so Ron is now bottle feeding the calf!  The number of ducklings has increased exponentially!

Although the summer days are warm, the evenings are nice and cool!  A great time to come and enjoy the creek, the flowers and the animals!
